Construction instructor Tim Palmer and his students from Northeast Tech's Foundation of Construction class took up the challenge of building these essential items. Second-year student Caleb Henington described how his team diligently measured and prepared the wood, taking approximately an hour per bed. Haley Madole of Fostering Mayes County ensures that the completed beds are stored safely until delivery. This final step underscores the importance of logistical coordination within such projects. Foster families in Oklahoma can request bunk beds through their caseworkers via CarePortal, an online platform facilitated by the 111Project. Already, five bunk beds have been crafted, marking just the beginning of what promises to be a transformative initiative.
